<Story of the work>

Sen no Rikyu systematized the understanding of human feelings to a high degree of theory, eliminated the external taste to the extreme, and popularized human-centered beauty. The concept that black is beautiful, which had never existed before, is an aesthetic concept that originated in Japan and is still reflected in lacquerware and home decorations today. This time, I used Pix-Shells to draw a flower decorated with a vase. In contrast to the black, the white background expresses a lost and ruined aesthetic, and the single flower expresses the connection between people that has not yet been lost in a situation that seems to have been isolated. Shells shine sharply even in white, and red shells represent the essence of rarity, as they are said to be the only red one. I hope that this work, drawn with cute dots on a white wall, will give us the opportunity to reflect on what we have gained and what we have lost in the transition to a digital society. I made it with such a prayer.
