This work was created for the art flower exhibition "Cloth Flowers and Paintings," in which artificial flowers are made from cloth. As the theme of the 2021 exhibition is a collaboration with painting as the title suggests, a friend of an art flower artist made flowers and painted them.
With the theme of the growth of a girl and the flowers that accompany her, I created a series of 4 pieces titled "Girl's Praise Flower". This work is the first one in it, and it is a picture of Shichi-Go-San at the age of 3.
She is dressed in Japanese clothes and dressed up with flower hair ornaments, but she doesn't understand what's going on, and since the camera is pointed at her, she puts on a peace for the time being and looks a little nervous.
<A word from the staff>
Jodai Watanabe, an artist from Ehime Prefecture, creates works based on the theme of "research and pursuit of line expressions, aesthetics of margins, and the spirit of wabi-sabi in Japanese comics that have evolved from Hokusai's ukiyo-e comics." He uses the expressions and techniques of Japanese manga to create works with female motifs.
This work, one of the works of "Shojo Sanka", fills the screen with a 3-year-old girl wearing a festive dress on the stage of Shichigosan. You can tell that the girl is a little nervous from her tightly tied mouth.
▼ Shoujo Hymn Series
Jodai Watanabe's works often depict women and events that are familiar to us as motifs, and each work is very detailed, including facial expressions and clothing. It's so wonderful that I want to collect all the serial works such as "Shoujo Sanka".
Artist Jodai Watanabe, who has been expanding his field of activity in recent years, has this opportunity to get his work for about 160,000 yen.
